Athens - Vada Maddox, 85, wife of the late Lee Maddox, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Athens Heritage.
Born in Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Maudie Truelove Tanksley. She was also preceded in death by her brother and sisters: Irene Morrow, Willie Montgomery and Waymon Tanksley. She was a member of Word of Life Church, Colbert, GA.
Survivors include her son Raymie Martin and his significant other: Peggy Peters, both of Athens; brother: Hobert Tanksley of High Shoals; sisters: Memphis Eason of Conyers, Nellie Hammond of Statham and Ruby Thrasher of Commerce; grandsons and their wives: Fred and Lynda Martin and Joe and Terri Martin; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Herman Nation officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park.
