Trudie Bea Hardigree Giles
At the age of 93, Trudie passed peacefully from her home in this life to her eternal home on Thursday, May 12th. She was the daughter of the late James Oscar (Pap) Hardigree and Annie Mae Elder Hardigree. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John William Giles. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Judith (Judy) Giles, a sister in law of the home, Esther Giles, a brother, James Oscar Hardigree, Jr, and a sister, Betty Haithcock.
Trudie was retired from the Oconee County School System lunchroom. She was the eldest active member at Antioch Christian Church, where she was active in Sunday school and Christian Women's Fellowship. Trudie truly had a servant's heart and spent her entire life taking care of others. She was affectionately known by her family as the "Silent Majority."
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Giles Randall, along with a son-in-love, Oran Randall. She also leaves behind 4 siblings, Ty Cobb Hardigree (Phyllis), Mary Dodd Hale (John), Peggy Hardigree, and Hildred Shumake (Franklin). She had many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved dearly. Special thanks to her longtime, daily caregivers, Elsie Mae Garrett and Julia Ann Powell, along with the staff at Gentiva Hospice.
