Toula Jeanette (Jones) Vaughn

Toula Jones Vaughn, 88, died on September 3, 2017, in Athens, Georgia. Born in Athens to the late Dee J. Jones and Regna Jones Bercos, she is survived by her children, Melissa Jane Vaughn and Ross Eric Vaughn, and Diane McCree, Scott Simpson, and sister-in-law Reba Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Edward Vaughn, son James Terrell Vaughn, brother Dennis Jones, and stepfather James Bercos.

Mrs. Vaughn graduated from the University of Georgia and pursued a career in fashion retailing. She traveled widely and lived abroad when her husband's work led to assignments in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. In later years, she lived in Oconee County, where she pursued a love of gardening, cooking, and reading. She was well known locally as the inspiration for the eponymous Toula's store in downtown Athens.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Athens Regional Library System.
