Timothy Clegg Mills

Timothy Clegg Mills, 78, husband of Alice McKinnon Mills, died Saturday, May 1, 2021. Born in Wingate, NC, he was the son of the late Brady Clegg Mills and Elsie Broome Mills and sister to the late Bonnie Mills Edwards.  Mr. Mills had attended Prospect United Methodist Church.  He retired from Prince Avenue Baptist Church Maintenance and following the church moving to Watkinsville, he assisted Piedmont College for a year.  For 35 years he was the owner and operator of Red Mule Grits working alongside his wife and mule Mr. Luke.  Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter Rebecca (Brian) Andrews; granddaughter: Emma Andrews and three sisters: Janice Mills and Libby Hinson of Monroe, NC and Gail Baucom of Wingate, NC.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Lord and Stephens East Chapel.
