Thurston "Junior" Barber, Jr.

Thurston “Junior” Barber, Jr., 85, of Hull passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022. Born on February 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Thurston Barber, Sr. and Sarah Sims Barber.

Junior was a member and trustee of Trinity Baptist Church.  He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and was the owner of Hull Plumbing & Heating.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James Thomas Barber; sister Louise Smith; son in law, Charles Blakeman.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Barber; children, Melanie Blakeman, John Barber, Emily Manning (Bill), Kimberly Meeler (Justin); grandchildren, Meredith Manning, Will Manning; great grandchildren, Katelyn & Kennedy Meeler; sister, Ann Dorsey (Randy); numerous nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park with Brother Jim Phillips and Pastor Jason Smith officiating. The family will receive friends the evening prior from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lord & Stephens West Chapel.
