Thurman Castles Boyd, 96, beloved father of Gail Ann Vasco and grandfather of Jeffrey Scott Marker, passed away February 8, 2010.
He was born on January 1, 1914 in Blair, OK, to Macie and Charles Boyd. He is also survived by his brothers, Ewell, James, Charles Ray and Billy Joe Boyd and his sisters, Natina Harklerood and niece, Yvonne Moore and their families. He was twice widowed by Anne Mae Hollingsworth Boyd and RoseMary Boyer Boyd.
He was a retired Commander of the US Coast Guard and retired as an Agronomist from the US Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Athens, GA.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family asks that any condolences be sent to his daughter Gail Ann Vasco and his grandson, Jeffrey Scott Marker c/o Gail Ann Vasco.
