Thomas Gerald Willis, Sr.

Thomas Gerald Willis, Sr., 81, of Danielsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Born in Athens, he was a son of the late Thomas Carlton Willis and Julia Faye Willis. Mr. Willis was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and worked as an Ironworker with Union #387 for more than forty years. Mr. Willis loved car shows, BBQ and he was an avid fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Willis; three children, Lynne Willis Carey, Thomas Gerald Willis, Jr. (Petra) and Joshua Adam Willis (Jade); eleven grandchildren, Christopher Scott Cleghorne, Matthew Richard Cleghorne, Alexis Brianna Willis, Joshua Adam Willis, Jr., Nicholas Tyler Willis, Emily Marie Collier, Christopher Michael Willis, Samantha Riley Willis, Zachary Caleb Willis, Anna Rocha and Karina Rocha and three great-grandchildren, Landon Cleghorne, Jaci Cleghorne and Trevor Cleghorne.

Graveside services will be Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Athens Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Josh Willis, Thomas Willis, Jr., Scott Cleghorne, Matt Cleghorne, Brad Scott, Billy Vickers and honorary pallbearer, Jeff Strickland. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
