Thomas L. Wood, 91, of Tucker, died Thursday March 25, 2010.
A native of Jackson County, Ga. He was a son of the late Thomas Newton and Emma Neal Wood. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. After moving to Tucker in 1963, He became the Assistant Postal Inspector in Charge for all of Atlanta. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Mr. Wood was a member of the Men's Garden Club of Atlanta and was the editor of the newsletter, The Grapevine, in which it won several national awards during his term as editor. He was also an Avid photographer. He had several photos published throughout the United States.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 29, 2010 at 2:00 at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Tommy Wood officiating. Interment will be at Attica Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday March 29 from 12- 2 at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alwayne Wood, his sons, John Wood, Stone Mountain, Ga. Ronald Wood, Decatur, Ga, Earl Wood, Tucker, Ga., 2 sisters, Inez Wood Parham, Athens, and Eula Wood Watson, Clarkesville, GA. 4 Grandsons and 1 Great Grandson and a number of other relative.
