Tommy James, 59, died Friday, December 23, 2011.
A native of Athens, he was the son of Jessie Mae Kellar James of Hull and the late T. W. James. Since 1972, Tommy was the owner and operator of Tommy James Mobile Home Transport. He also bored wells, owned a mobile home park, wrecker service, worked at Atlanta Gas Light and for John Deer. He loved restoring antiques cars, trucks and John Deer tractors.
Survivors in addition to his mother include two sons: Matthew William James and Lucas Tyler James both of Hull; step daughter: Tabatha Graham of Jefferson; brother: Steven Wayne James of Athens and grandchildren: Leland and Hayden Haley.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday, December 26, 2011 at the funeral home.
