Athens - Tommy Fair, 86, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Arnoldsville, GA, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Minnie Conley Fair. Tommy retired from National Life Insurance Company as an Insurance Agent. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Pochard which was a Mine Sweeper during the war. He was a founding member of the McDonalds Retirees Coffee Club on Gaines School Road, Athens, and also a founding member of Athens VFW Post 2872. He was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Fair Pueschel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2009 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Herb Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Seagraves Fair of 63 years, son and daughter in law, Wayne and Laura Fair of Watkinsville, son in law, Kevin Pueschel, sister, Frances Partin of Blairsville, brothers, Joe Fair of Blairsville, Cecil Fair of Belgium and three grandchildren, Brian Pueschel, Juanita Fair and Jason Fair.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
The family will be at the residence of his son, Wayne Fair. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
