Decatur - Thomas Lee Escoe, 78, died Saturday, June 14, 2008.
Born in Athens, son of the late William Thomas and Lillie Noell Escoe, Thomas graduated from Athens High School in 1947. Proudly serving in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he was also a member of the Conyers VFW and past commander of American Legion Post 131. Retiring from Darby Printing Company in 1992 after 28 years of dedicated service. Thomas also served as a deacon at Peachcrest Baptist Church, Decatur, Ga., and formerly attended East Athens Baptist Church, Athens.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty McCune Escoe; daughter, Donna Escoe Flournoy of Milton, Fla.; son, Terry Lee Escoe of Lawrenceville; sister, Margie Escoe Llewallyn of Winterville; four grandchildren, Jenna Flournoy, Carey Escoe, Scott Flournoy and Terra Escoe; and close friends.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Ray Werzer officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
