High Shoals - Thomas P. Butler, 89, husband of the late Pearl Blankenship Butler, died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Family Life Enrichment Center.
Born in Oconee County he was the son of the late Henry T. and Lena Hegwood Butler. He was a member of Bishop Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Navy during W.W. II. Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam H. Butler, A. J. Butler and Hugh A. Butler and one sister, Fannie Butler Huff.
Survivors include his daughter, Lorine Kish; son, John Henry Butler; step-daughters, Peggy Elder of Watkinsville, Lucille Jennings of Athens and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held today, May 27, 2005 at 11 AM at Athens Memory Gardens with Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating.
The family has requested that memorials be made to Bishop Baptist Church.
