Crawford - Thelma H. Coile, 97, of Crawford, died Thursday, January 28, 2010.
Mrs. Coile, a lifelong member of Crawford Baptist Church, was the daughter of the late Hugh Hampton and Alice Threlkeld Hall of Elbert County. She was a loving mother, great cook and baker of the most delicious cakes. She very much enjoyed working in her yard and her beautiful flower beds.
Mrs. Coile was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Edmond D. Coile; sons, Curtis E. Coile and Billy J. Coile; grandson, Kerry Coile; sister, Laura Hall Reynolds; brother, Ty Cobb Hall; daughters-in-law, Margaret Swan Coile, Rachel Kittle Coile and Bonnie Huff Coile; and son-in-law, Lincoln Paradise.
She is survived by her son, James H. Coile of Crawford; daughters, Nell (George) Walls of Lincolnton, Margaret Paradise of Crawford and Gloria (Jerry) Peterman of Stephens; sister, Nancy Hall Ramsey of Griffin; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, January 29, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Lord and Stephens, Oglethorpe Chapel. Services will be Saturday, January 30, at Crawford Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Reverends Sam Cox and Dan Fuller officiating with burial to follow at Crawford Cemetery. Grandsons, Tim Coile, Van Wier, David Coile, Jay Peterman, Danny Walls and Marcus Escoe, will serve as pallbearers.
A special thank you to the caregivers of Quiet Oaks Nursing Home, Crawford and Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington, for taking loving care of our mother.
