Athens - Tennie H. Mims, 93, widow of LTC (Ret) Richard B. Mims, died peacefully November 21, 2006.
She was the daughter of the late Mary E. and Robert Hewitt of Chapmansboro, Tennessee. She lived in the Atlanta area after her husband retired and moved to Athens, GA in 2001. Mrs. Mims was preceded in death by a son, Frank H. Mims of Columbus, GA.
Survivors include a daughter, Camilla Mims of Athens, GA, two grandchildren, Jennifer Roark and her husband, Joseph Davidson Roark II of Gainesville, GA, Frank Edward Mims of Atlanta, GA, and two great grandchildren, Joseph Davidson Roark III, and Mary Elise Roark, both of Gainesville, GA.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Oconee Presbyterian Church at 4PM with Reverend Pam Driesell officiating. Memorials may be made to College Park Presbyterian Church, 3557 Main Street, College Park, GA 30337, Oconee Presbyterian Church, 2601 Hog Mountain Road Watkinsville, GA, 30677,Vista Care Hospice, 150 Ben Burton Road, Bogart, GA 30622, or to the charity of one's choice.
