Winterville, GA - Taylor H. Wood, 95, died September 8, 2008.
Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late Walter Preston Wood and Mattie Pugh Wood. He was preceded in death by sisters, Gennie Wood and Mary Ruth McRee, brother, H. Edgar Wood and nephews, Shannon Wood and Preston Wood. Mr. Wood was a minister of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his sister, Patience Hale; nephews, Edgar H. Wood and wife, Ruby; Andrew L. Wood and wife, Fannie; niece, Martha Holladay and husband, John, all of Winterville; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 15, 2008 at 12:00 PM at 803 Double Springs Road, Demorest, GA 30535. Barry Barkley, Ray Hoffman, Sam McCraken and Robert Flippo will officiate. Interment will be at 5:00 PM in Winterville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 12, 2008, from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Advantage, 135 Athens West Parkway, Athens, GA 30606.
