Talmadge Johnson Hall, 87, died September 27, 2021.
Born November 18, 1933 in Madison County, GA, Talmadge was a son of the late Eunice Parham and Herbert Johnson Hall.
Talmadge graduated from Royston High School in 1951 and served two years in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following service to his country, Talmadge returned home and began a career in the funeral business. Prior to attending mortuary school, he served his apprenticeship with Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston. After graduating in 1959 from The Kentucky School of Embalming, he worked for Weldon Funeral Home in Lavonia. From 1963 until 1995, Talmadge owned and operated Hall Funeral Home in Royston. He also owned and operated Harber-Harbin Florist in Royston from 1961-1995. Since that time, Talmadge continued to serve families with Lord and Stephens Funeral Homes until his passing. His 65 years as a licensed Funeral Director in the State of Georgia is a rare accomplishment and is to be commended.
Funeral service will be Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Greg Hall of Hartwell; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Jeff Freeman of Royston; three grandchildren, Hilary Hall Uggla of Winder, William Thomas “Beau” Freeman of Savannah and Hudson Hall of Hartwell.
