Talmadge Thomas Chambers Jr. (Tommy), 77, of Winterville, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Talmadge Thomas Chambers Sr. and Thelma Whitehead Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1966-1968 at Fort Carson Colorado. He loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of Winterville First Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon, worked in the nursery for over 25 years, started the Senior Adult Ministry in 1980 and was active with the Bus Ministry. Mr. Chambers retired from Georgia Power after 37 years of employment and he was owner and operator of both Chambers and Park Landscaping and Chambers Well Service. He enjoyed southern gospel and bluegrass music and most importantly, he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Fields Chambers; two children, Ty Chambers (April) and Sue Ann Holland (Sean); four grandchildren, Jessie Chambers McDaniel (J.R.), Eli Chambers, Gabe Holland and Layla Holland and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Winterville First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Winterville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Nash, Max Nash, Matthew Nash, Gabe Holland, J.R. McDaniel and Eli Chambers. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Winterville First Baptist Church, 305 North Church Street, Winterville, GA 30683.
