Colbert, GA - Sybil Carey Schoyen, 83, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 18, 2011.
A native of Danielsville in Madison County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Little Carey and Ellene Martin Carey and was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Gladys Carey and Ferrol Tyner. Mrs. Schoyen was the widow of Gerald Hjalmar Schoyen and was a loving wife and mother. She was an O.R. Technician at Scottish Rite Eastlake, and Georgia Regional.
Survivors include her children, Karen Sirmans (Mike) of Snellville and Jeff Schoyen (Sachi Murasugi) of Salisbury, MD; grandchildren, Chris (Lynn) Sirmans, Kelly (Daniel) Winn, Miyuki Schoyen and Teiji Schoyen; great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kirklynn and Ryleigh Sirmans and Maya Winn; sisters, Marie Young of Gainesville, FL and Linda Wickliffe of Colbert; brothers, Wallace Carey of McDonough, Martin Carey of Bowman, Larion Carey of Starr, SC, Ross Carey of Colbert and Raleigh Carey of Hull.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, Danielsville. Revs. Hugh Hendrickson and Jim Haralson will officiate. Interment will follow at Colbert Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Carey, Mark Carey, Greg Carey, Brent Carey, Kola Payne, Chris Carey, Michael Carey and Daniel Winn.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Scottish Rite Hospital, and/or Colbert United Methodist Church.
