Stephens - Sybil Bonner Hayes, 83, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2PM at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Mask and Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Adams, Zack Stevens, Douglas Hemphill, Jr., Ed Lindsey, David Wall, Jr., Steve Hayes, Mike Day, Scott Hayes and Mike Thrasher.
A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late James Alexander and Addie Chafin Bonner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Tunney Hayes. She retired from Style Rite Manufacturing as a seamstress. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children and their spouses: Vickie H. Stevens and Clay of Stephens, Tim Hayes and Allison of Stephens; sister: Betty Jean "Peggy" Echols of Rayle; sisters in law: Cynthia Eileen Forbes and Mary Jeanette Hemphill both of Stephens; grandchildren: Zack Stevens, Kayla Stevens, Harley Grace Hayes and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Lord & Stephens, Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
