Suzanne Farley Hoy

Crawford, GA - Suzanne Farley Hoy, 73, of Crawford, GA, died June 11, 2008 following a long battle with cancer. She was born in Washington, DC, on December 7, 1934, to Francis W. and Margaret E. Farley. She was a legal secretary and retired as an executive secretary from the University of Georgia. Following her retirement, Suzanne was active in the community volunteering especially as a mentor for the Oglethorpe County Elementary School, traveled extensively with her husband, and enjoyed rural life with her family and friends.
Suzanne is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dr. Don R. Hoy; sons, Dr. Roger M. (Diane) of Lincoln, NE, and Dr. Jeffery M. (Sonia) of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Cassandra, Sabrina, Zachary Hoy of Valdosta; step-grandsons, Mark, Michael, Kevin and David McGinnis; brother, John (Mary Dee) Farley of Delaware; sisters, Nancy (Paul) Gorbea of Virginia and Eileen (John) Kling of Delaware; four step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Lord and Stephens, EAST from 7:00 until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at a later date in Davey, Nebraska, with interment to follow at the Danish Cemetery in Davey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
