On March 9, 2024, Susie Holland McCutchen succumbed to the love of God and the wisdom and guidance of eternal love.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents Elliotte Holland and Mary Frances Bryan Holland. Together they molded the incredibly unselfish individual she would become. Also preceded in death were her maternal grandparents, Dr. E.W. Bryan and Susie Anderson Bryan, and her fraternal grandparents, Ernest Holland Sr. and Mayflower Holland.
Susie graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Education from Auburn University. She served as Counselor at Monroe Area Comprehensive High School and Carver Middle School in Walton County, Georgia. Numerous awards were presented to Susie such as Counselor of the Year (County and School District), and Educator of the Year.
Susie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dr. Thomas McCutchen, her daughter Nori Frances (Kyle) Blagg, her sons Bryan Thomas (Rebecca) McCutchen, Todd Elliotte McCutchen, Shea Holmes (Stacia) McCutchen and three grandchildren, Kayla Blagg, Chase Blagg and Jude McCoy, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Susie is survived by her siblings Steven E. (Julie) Holland and June H. (George) Mauser.
Susie was a devoted mother and wife whose life revolved around her family. She was an avid college football fan, enjoyed cooking and especially home decorating/design. She enjoyed outdoor activities with the family, including mountain biking, rafting, and camping.
To honor Susie’s wishes, there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charities; National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org), American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org), Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org), or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (www.cf.org).
