Dunwoody - Susan Hall Nix, age 56, of Dunwoody, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 7, 2007.
Susan is survived by her husband, LaFayette Nix, and three stepsons, Kelly Nix, 20, Shawn Nix, 18, and Casey Nix, 15, (Kelly is enlisting in the Navy, Shawn attends West Georgia College and Casey attends Sequoia High School), her father, Morrill Melton Hall, her mother, Vera Goode Hall, her brother, Mel Hall, Jr., and his wife, Judy Crocker Hall, their daughter, Julie Hall, son, Todd and his wife, Melinda. She was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Hall, who died at age 4.
Susan was a graduate of Athens High School and UGA with a degree in journalism. She spent the majority of her career in Telecom working for both MCI and BellSouth, where she was a Director of Intellectual Properties. Her passion for life was unmatched. She was a Master scuba diver, avid reader, zealous Georgia Bulldog fan, enjoyed grilling out, was the dorm mom for the "Fun Bunch". She was generous in every way. She loved her cat, Miss Boo, Indy and dog, Sunny. Most of all, she loved Jesus and her family. She attended Dunwoody Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the St. James United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Meredith officiating. Interment will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1060 Gaines School Road B-2, Athens, GA 30605.
