Susan Perry Draper

Susan Perry Draper, 80, beloved wife of Stephen H. Draper, Sr. for 55 years, passed away on December 4, 2024. Born in St. Petersburg, FL, she was the daughter of the late Everett Nelson Perry and Jean Champlin Perry. A graduate of the University of Florida, Susan devoted her career to teaching music and theater in Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

An active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, GA, Susan's life was marked by her deep passion for education, music, and theater, which inspired and touched the lives of many. She is survived by her husband, Stephen, and their three children: Julie (Stan) Payne, Stephen (Tammi) Draper, Jr., and Adam Draper, as well as five cherished grandchildren: Hunter Payne, Abby Payne, Ava Payne, Stephen Draper III, and Andrew Draper.

A memorial service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
