Susan Ella Combs

Susan Ella Combs, 85, died September 26, 2012.
Mrs. Combs received her LPN Certification in 1945 and worked at St. Mary's Hospital from 1946 until 1957. She continued to work as a private duty nurse from 1958 until 1990. From 1957 until 1985, she was also the bookkeeper of V. W. Combs Garage.
Mrs. Combs was a woman of God and Sunday School Teacher as well as a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed her half acre garden which she tended for over forty-five years.
Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Virgil W. Combs.
Survivors include her son, Winston P. Combs; two brothers, Emmitt Ghann and wife, Joyce of Union Point, GA and Thomas Ghann and wife, Shirley of Madison, GA; sister, Fannie Fowler of Dallas, GA; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
