Sue Mealor

Sue Mealor, 85, died Friday, September 9, 2016. A native of Dahlonega, GA, she was the daughter of the late Brown Walker and Kate Patton Walker. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bessie Lee and Kenneth Walker and granddaughter, Tabitha Murray. She was a homemaker and had attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Turnerville, GA. Survivors include her children: Leonard (Delores) Garrett of Athens, Doris (Horace) Smith of Turnerville, Allene (Richard) Hughes of Blairsville, Joey (Clifford) Murray of Athens; sisters: Yvonne (James) Garrett, Betty Jean Cagle, Linda Parker; grandchildren: Michael Smith, Tonya Hughes, Ricky Hughes, Cassandra Fox, Courtney Drake, Kimberly Murray and Matthew Murray and twelve great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rusty Watkins, Ty Drake, Ricky Hughes, Matthew Murray, Michael Smith and Travis Smith. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the funeral home.
