Steven "Stevie" DeWayne Hammond

Steven DeWayne Hammond, (known to most as "Stevie"), 62, passed away on June 27, 2023.
Born in Athens, GA he was the son of Howard Lester Hammond and Barbara Ann Perry Hammond, both of Watkinsville. Stevie worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Neal Construction and was a member of New Life Apostolic Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His passion was coaching his grandchildren's softball teams and being their number one fan and supporter. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his parents include his three children: Bradley Hammond, Brandy Hawkins and Arellia (Jeremy) Mixon; his fiancé; Linda Patterson; four grandchildren; Summer Hawkins, Peyton Hawkins, Brock Hawkins and Hudson Mixon; sister: LaRonda (Dean) Sutton, nephew: Jayce (Brianna) Sutton, Niece: Kayla (Josh) Arnold and former wife: Jeania Rene Jones, mother of his 2 oldest children (Bradley Hammond and Brandy Hawkins), as well as countless relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 3PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Pastors Tim Hammond and Zach Hammond officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
