Steven Michael Summers, born on August 21st, 1955, in Corona, California, passed away unexpectedly on August 13th, 2024, at the age of 68.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah Cofield Summers of Monroe; his daughter, Chrisy Summers Mramor; his son-in-law, Brooks Mramor; and his cherished grandchildren, Hayla and Colton Mramor of Athens. Steve is also remembered by his siblings, Bob Summers and his wife Darsha, Susan Clark, and Debbie Summers, along with his Aunt Judy Dolan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G Summers and Joan Dolan Summers Watkins, and his brother, David Summers.
Steve was a Navy Veteran and a retired painter. He enjoyed his work, and was a devoted family man. He was known for his warm heart and infectious sense of humor, always bringing laughter to those around him with his silly jokes. Steve had a deep love for life, waking up every morning happy to be alive and spending as much time as he could outdoors hunting and fishing. He was an avid supporter of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs.
Steve will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Chad, Harley, Chris, Robbie, Julianne, Nancy, and Brian.
A memorial service to honor Steve’s life will be held on September 1st, 2024, at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 PM.
