Arnoldsville - Steven Michael Nelms, 48, died January 31, 2006.
A native of Athens, he was the son of Dianne Diletto and Ted L. Nelms. Steve was a member of Crossroads Church and played on the State Championship Softball Team.
He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and skilled carpenter.
A devoted and loving family man, in addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his wife, Donna Nelms; son, Shaun Nelms of Athens; sister, Beth Nelms of Athens; brother, Phil Nelms of Bishop; grandson, Jackson Nelms and nieces and nephews, Matthew, Joey, Nathan, Michelle, Jessica and Andrea.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Rev. Morris Sapp officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, Winder.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM..
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
