Steve Earl Kaley

Steve Kaley, 89, of Watkinsville died Monday, May 9, 2016. Steve was born in Bremen GA to
the late Jacob W. Kaley and Lora Allbritton Kaley. He is also preceded in death by siblings;
Marguerite Jones, Jacob W. Kaley Jr., Jack S. Kaley, and Frank D. Kaley. Steve is survived
by his wife of 44 years, Terry Kaley, brother, Max D. Kaley, brothers-in-law Mike Bashaw and
Fred Garner, along with several nieces and nephews. Steve served in the U. S. Navy Air Corp
during WWII as a radio-radar operator on a TBF Avenger. He later graduated from the SMU
law school, where his oral delivery of case arguments earned him the nick name "Smooth
Mouth". Steve will best be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to do anything he
attempted. A memorial service will be held, Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Lord and
Stephens, West. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Lord and Stephens, West
