Stephen Daniel Warren

Stephen "Steve" Daniel Warren, 65, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Steve was born in Winterville, GA on May 26, 1948 to the late J.B. and Lillian Warren. He married Diane Warren in June 1970, and then moved to Conyers, GA where he owned and operated Rockdale Pest Control for over 10 years. He was also an active member of the Rockdale County Rotary Club, Rockdale County Chamber of Commerce and Conyers First United Methodist Church.
After leaving Rockdale Pest Control, Steve then returned to Winterville where he was the founder and owner of the Winterville Retirement Center until 2000. While operating the retirement center, he was passionate about making a difference in the lives of each resident and their family. As such, Steve was honored multiple times as having the number one retirement in the state of Georgia as well as receiving a Key to the City of Winterville in commemoration of his years of public service to not only the city, but the Athens-Clarke County community.
Steve is survived by his wife, Diane, and son and daughter-in-law, Will & Kelli Warren, all of Conyers, GA. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Warren, of Winterville and sister and brother-in-law, Kaylen & Steve White, of Eatonton, GA.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens, EAST.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Winterville Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund c/o P.O. Box 414, Winterville, GA 30683.
