Stephen “Ratt” Franklin James, 58, of Danielsville, Ga. passed away in his home on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Mr. James is the son of June Dean James and the late Hiram Erwin James of Danielsville. Stephen has two brothers, Stanley (Karen) and Barry a.k.a. Bubba James both of Danielsville.
Stephen leaves behind his only child, daughter; Kacie Mae James of Athens, and her longtime boyfriend, Elijah Vaughn, who worked with and was loved like a son by Stephen. Kacie’s mother, Mickey Kennedy of Canon, Ga. was the love of his life. His two 4 legged and loyal companions, Charlie and Piper.
Stephen worked for and co-owned James Turbo and Parts, LLC. He was a walking parts catalog, due to his photographic memory, he could spit out all the part numbers. He worked hard rebuilding oil pumps and turbos for many customers around the United States.
Stephen enjoyed being at the shop after hours, to help his brother and all the local Shiloh men on race cars and go carts. Other hobbies included collecting Dale Earnhardt, Sr. memorabilia, Dr. Pepper and 7-Up collector’s items. His newest interest was restoring antique juke boxes, but his biggest love and passion was his camaros.
Stephen was a wonderful person with an infectious personality, laugh, and big heart.
A private graveside service will be held with Rev. Reggie Vaughn and Rev. Jerome Howell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or Parkinson’s research.
