Stephanie Wood Hortman

The heavenly roll marks one more present. Stephanie Elaine Wood Hortman of Watkinsville, GA,
entered into the home of her Heavenly Father on Friday, April 21, after a two-year fight with spinal
cancer. Her passing at home was peaceful, and she was surrounded by her loved ones. She has fought
the good fight. She has finished the course. She has kept the faith. And now she has her victory.

Stephanie was born on September 20, 1976, in Valdosta, GA, to Steve and Cary Wood. Married to Jason Hortman in Athens, GA, on June 29, 2002.

She graduated from Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton in 1997, and the University of Georgia in 1999.
She was a devoted wife, mother and lover of Jesus Christ. She was active in her church, the Athens
Vineyard Church, and was also actively involved in community support groups for adoptive families.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Elder Bob Dickerson, of Valdosta.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Hortman and her son, Charlie Hortman, both of Watkinsville.
Grandparents Harrell and Montine Wood of Adel, and Marjorie Dickerson of Valdosta. Parents Steve and Cary Wood. Sister Julie Wood Wardwell and brother-in-law Rich Wardwell, and niece Anne Wardwell and nephew Davis Wardwell, of Adel, GA. Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Ed and Myra Hortman of Greensboro, GA.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Burial will be Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Fellowship Church in Hahira GA.
