Stanley Lamar Strickland

Stanley L. Strickland, 79, husband of Marilyn Toney Strickland, died on January 22, 2024.

Born in Athens, GA, Stanley was the son of the late Leonard Ethan Strickland and Anne Lee Goodrum Strickland and brother to the late Vonnie Callahan, Euree Moon, Charles Strickland, and Heyward Strickland.

Stanley received his master’s in public administration from the University of Georgia and retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. Over the years he played the organ at many churches and was currently the Organist at Welcome Worship Center.

Survivors in addition to his wife Marilyn include two children: Jennifer (Christopher) Lancaster and Barry Strickland and two grandchildren: Julia and Sara Kate Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
