Bishop, GA - Stan Stanchek, 54, husband of Denise Stanchek, died Sunday, August 13, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Tarentum, PA, he was the son of Stanley F. Stanchek, Murrysville, PA and the late LaRue Carson Stanchek. He had been the Plant Manager for the past two years at HunterDouglas in Atlanta. Stan was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon. He has been involved with Little League Baseball since 1995, where he served as the District Administrator for District 10 and had also served as the President of the Oconee Little League Association.
In addition to his wife and father, Stan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Amanda Stanchek of Richmond, VA; daughter, Lauren Stanchek of Lansing, MI; son, Ryan Stanchek of Bishop; and two sisters: Peggie Stanchek of Deltona, FL, and Gisele Dudek of Oakmont, PA.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2006 from 6PM to 9PM at the funeral home. Viewing will be held Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 10AM and funeral services will begin at 11AM at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be Matthew Stanchek, Ryan Stanchek, Barry Sosbee, Herbert Adams, Greg Healan, and Gary Lee. Burial will be held at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
The family has requested that memorials be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church, 2661 Mars Hill Road, Watkinsville, GA.
