Watkinsville - Sonia Ann Lavender, 68, wife of Roger Lavender, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Foster Huff and Anna Bell Hainey Huff. Sonia retired from the University of Georgia accounts payable department and was a member of Antioch Christian Church.
Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons: Richard Barron Lavender of Kennesaw, Jeffery Allen Lavender of Monroe; daughter: Anna Marie Lavender of Watkinsville and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Jeff Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home, Sunday, May 11, 2008.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
