Silvia Rosa Ullrich, 87, of Athens, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Silvia was born in Cuba to the late Isidoro and Catalina Rodriguez Queipo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ullrich, and siblings, Benjamin Queipo, Manolo Queipo, Luis Queipo, Serbando Queipo, and Maria Jimenez. Silvia is survived by her children, Andy (Debbie) Ullrich, Bill (Melanie) Ullrich, Rick (Martha) Ullrich; siblings, Tina Queipo and Bienbenido Queipo; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Silvia was affectionately known as Mima to all who knew her. The family fled Cuba in 1966 and eventually settled in East Point, GA. She attended East Point First Baptist Church and was a long-time member of The Ogreta Sunday School Class. Later in life she proudly earned her US Citizenship. Mima was devoted to her family and loved to share her Cuban heritage through cooking. She was a kind and loving mother who raised three outstanding sons. She had a heart for serving others and delighted all who met her. She especially enjoyed spending time with children.
A Celebration of Life honoring Silvia will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West, in Bogart, GA. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth on Monday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m.
