Shirley Ann Thurmond

Shirley Ann Thurmond, 78, Mother, died June 21, 2021. Born March 7, 1943 at 4:20 am, Athens General Hospital (Peidmont Athens Regional) in Athens, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Hobert R. Everhart and Ruth A. Bellew Self and step father, Willie C. Self. She was also preceded in death by her son: Allen Thurmond Sr.; siblings: Dwight Everhart, Larry Self; Joseph Patat; nephew; James Self.  Ann had worked in health care at St. Mary’s Hospital, Piedmont Athens Regional and Cobb Health Care in Comer. Survivors include her child: Dennis (Terrie) Thurmond; Grandchildren: Gavin Thurmond, Gryphon Thurmond, GraceAnn Thurmond, Ida Thurmond, Chelsea (Michael) Holman, Joshua Miner, Allen Thurmond Jr.: Brandy (Chris Tolbert) Thurmond , Amanda (Michael) Hooten, Great Grandchildren: Allen Thurmond III, Cheyann Bryant, Abby Bryant, Arrabella Hardy, Daniel Hardy, Sister-In-Law: Teresa Self ; neices and nephews: William C. (Whitney) Self (Porter self), Samantha (A’Tavious Pittard) Self (K’Von Pittard, Jordyn Billings). A private service was held at a earlier date, by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to, The American Cancer Society or Madison County Humane Society, in her name.
