Shirley Lowe Thaxton

Shirley Lowe Thaxton, 81, wife of 63 years to Lee H. Thaxton, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. A lifelong resident of Arnoldsville, Shirley was the daughter of the late Burley W. Lowe and Ruby P. Lowe. She retired from Bellsouth/AT&T after 35 years. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her husband Lee, include one son and daughter in law: Greg and Abbie Thaxton of Arnoldsivlle; granddaughter and her husband: Kimberlee and Mack Saxon of Watkinsville, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 3PM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Arnoldsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 3:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Corinth Baptist Church.
