Shirley R. ""Maw Maw"" Smith

Shirley R. "Maw Maw" Smith, 71, went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2015.
A native of Hull, GA, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Lucy Coile. Shirley retired from the Athens-Clarke County Clerk of Courts Office and spent many years struggling with Parkinson's Disease. Shirley was a true blessing from God to her family and all that knew her.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Pastor Cedric Fortson officiating. Interment will be at Athens Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be William (Will) Smith III, Jarrod Ross Smith, Robert (Donny) Faust, Guy Hewell, Alan Erwin and Justin Gillespie.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of nearly fifty-four years, William (W. D.) Smith, Sr. who never left her side. Shirley leaves behind two children, William (Don) Smith II and his wife, Dianne, and Amanda J. Faust and her husband Donny. She had four grandchildren, William (Will) Smith III and his wife Wendy, Jarrod Smith, Landon Faust, Larsin Faust and one great grandchild, William (Liam) Smith IV. She is also survived by one sister, Eddie Gabriel.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
