Athens - Shirley Moore Griffith, 63, of Athens, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at her home in Athens. Mrs. Griffith was the daughter of Marjorie M. Moore of Athens and the late Donald P. Moore.
Survivors other than her mother are her husband, Hillman F. Griffith Jr.; her daughter, Jennifer Partridge; and was mother to Cheryl A. Davis (Donnie) of Lilburn, Thomas F. Griffith (Tammy) of Athens, Melanie L. Schimmel (Lewis) of Athens. She was grandmother to Matthew H. Davis (Jennifer), Tracey D. Means (Jeremy), Lyndie S. Miller (James), Jacob Griffith, Kelly Schimmel, John Schimmel, Josh Davis, Justin Griffith, James Schimmel, Brett Partridge, Haley Partridge, Clay Partridge and Gracie Boswell; great-grandchildren, Grayson Means, Caleb Davis, Ansley Davis, Hanna Grace Davis and Sadie Grace Miller; sister, Glenda Miller; brothers, Larry Moore, Wayne Moore, Terry Moore and Steve Moore.
She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and Word Bearers Sunday School Class.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 3 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST, with Revs. Bill Ricketts and Bob Partridge officiating.
One hour prior to the service the family will meet those in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Arise and Build Campaign or St. Mary's Hospice.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
