Shirlee Dean (Mathis) Thronburg

Shirlee Dean Thronburg, 80, died Sunday, March 6, 2016. A native of Wilkes County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Miller Mathis and Era Foster Mathis. Shirlee received her degree in Nursing from Davis Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a Register Nurse in Statesville and Catawba, NC, Sioux Falls, SD and Morgan and Oconee Counties. She was a resident of Morgan County for 15 years prior to moving to Oconee County 10 years ago. Survivors include her sons: Dean (Carol) Elmore of Watkinsville, Troy (Sheila) Elmore of Catawba, NC; three brothers: Royce, Burney and I. T. Mathis all of North Carolina and one granddaughter, Olivia Elmore of Catawba, NC. Services will be private.
