Sheila Belle Wright

Sheila Belle Wright, 73, of Athens, died on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Born in Macon to the late James Quillian Sanders and Mary Davis Sanders, Sheila worked as a lab technician in the medical field. She was a creative person, an excellent singer and a poet.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Travis Wright and her brother, Gilbert "Bo" Sanders.

Sheila is survived by her siblings: James (Deborah) Sanders, Allen (Margaret) Sanders, Sandra Paulk, and Lee (Kerry) McBryde; daughter-in-law Sheri Wright; oldest niece, Robin McKenna; several other nieces and nephews; and friend and caretaker, Jeanette Phillips.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 23 at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Colbert City Cemetery.
