Sheila (Black) Hicks

Sheila Black Hicks, 56, wife of 29 years to Kent Hicks, died Sunday, July 4, 2021 at her residence. Sheila was a longtime resident of Oconee County and was the daughter of JoAnn Woods Black and the late Charles Hampton Black. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Randall Black.  Sheila had worked at Rocky Branch Elementary School for 9 years prior to working at Oconee County Probate Court for the last 12 years.  She was a member of New Life Apostolic Church. Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include two sons: Taylor Kent (Brooke) Hicks and Logan Hampton (Paris) Hicks; grandchildren: Evie Hicks and Emmy Hicks and nephew Jason Black.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Tim Hammond officiating.  Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oconee County Relay For Life. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Watkinsville, is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
