Sharon Ann Sucher

Sharon Ann Sucher, 77, of Winterville, Georgia died on March 28, 2024.  The daughter of the late Edward Leroy Christianson and Mary Elaine Christianson (nee Minsky).  In 2020, Mrs. Sucher and her husband moved to Winterville from Springfield, VA where they had lived for 60 years.  

Mrs. Sucher is survived by her husband Anthony (Tony), three children and their spouses:  Steven of Orange, VA (Annette), James of King George, VA (Crystall), Kevin of Panama City, FL (Crystal); her brother David Christianson and his wife, Cookie, of Sparta, GA, and her sister Susan Bessette of Colonial Beach, VA and her spouse, Denis; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Before beginning her own family, Sharon was a graduate of the Washington School for Secretaries in Washington, D.C. and worked for the Army Photographic Agency in the Pentagon and at NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC.  Once her sons were old enough, she taught for 27 years in the private school system in Fairfax County, Virginia.  She was an avid quilter and a member of the St. Joan of Arc Columbiettes at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Athens, Georgia.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 958 Epps Bridge Parkway, Athens, GA 30606 on Friday, April 12 , 2024 at 2:30 PM.  Interment will be at Athens Memorial Gardens, 5195 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605 immediately following the funeral Mass.
