Shannon Morris Laughlin

Shannon M. Laughlin age 34 of Athens died Monday, August 14, 2006. Shannon, son of Barbara and the late Charles W. Laughlin, was born in Michigan, graduated from Clarke Central, and attended the University of Colorado and Macalester College. A long time resident of Fort Collins CO, he returned home to Athens in March when diagnosed with cancer. Shannon was inquisitive, intelligent, open-minded, and free-spirited. He was an avid musician and soccer player.
Shannon's kind and gentle spirit will be missed by his mother; his brother Charlie and his wife Leigh and their 2 sons, Hugh and Sam Laughlin, of Athens; his step sister Deborah Janzen and her husband Rody and their 2 children, Ryan and Taylor of Omaha NE; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church in Athens on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
