Sarah E. McConnell

Sarah E. McConnell, 97, of Comer, Ga. died Sunday September 26, 2010. A life long resident of Comer, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Inez Power Loftis. Mrs. McConnell was in the first class of women to graduate from the University of Georgia. She, along with her husband, the late Elmer McConnell, were the owners of Comer Hardware and Supply from 1955 until 1985. She was also a long time member of the Comer Woman's Club. Mrs. McConnell was a member of the Comer First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 29, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Comer First Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Interment will be at Comer Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 28, 2010 at Lord and Stephens Madison Chapel from 6-8 P.M.
Survivors include Daughters Rachel McConnell Whitworth and husband Shuratt of Lavonia, Ga. and Patricia M. Hancock of Comer, Ga. 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
