Sara Edins Beard

Sara Edins Beard, 100, wife of the late Harold Watson Beard, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Comer Health and Rehab.

Born in Franklin County on June 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Lee Edins and Alice Leann Ray Edins and mother-in-law to the late John Horne and Susan Beard. She worked as a seamstress at the ILA Sewing Plant.

Survivors include her three children: Janie Lou Horne, Patricia Carol (Milton) Hill, William Leon Beard; grandchildren: Johnnie Horne, Jackson Randall Horne, Alana Hill (Todd) Turk, Myron Kelton Beard, Byron “Cot” Watson (Karen) Beard, Wendy Anita Beard, Tanya Louise (Alan) Jacoby and Cohen Wayne (Rebecca) Hill and a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 2pm at Danielsville Evangelical Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
