Sara B. Smith

Statham - Mrs. Sara B. Smith, 81, of Mulberry Grove, Statham, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the Athens Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Emerson B. Smith, brothers Billy and Benny Ray Smith and parents, Novella and William Bussey Smith. She is survived by brothers, Tyron Smith and wife Gertude of Jonesboro, Franklin Smith and wife Beulah of Macon, daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Smith of Athens, Donna Gail Lancaster of Lawrenceville, Sara Cody McNamara and husband James of Statham, son Emerson Charles Smith and wife Deanne of Bishop, grandchildren, Jason Lancaster of Lawrenceville, Heather and Robert Shaw of Hull, Emerson Charles Smith, Jr. and Meredith of Dacula, Laura and Mitch Price of Winder, Melissa Smith of Wilmington, NC, Chris and Connie McDaniel of Statham, Kelly and Josh Westbrook of Winder, and five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of the Luthersville Methodist Church and attended Bogart Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Revs. Russell Repetske and John Whitehead officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 PM at Luthersville Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris McDaniel, Charlie Smith, Jason Lancaster, Robert Shaw, Mitch Price and Josh Westbrook.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
