Watkinsville - Sara C. Saxon, 81, wife of the late Edd R. Saxon, died Saturday, April 08, 2006 at Athens Heritage Nursing Home.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Guy L. and Ruby Eberhardt Crawford. She retired from the Oconee County School System and was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Hayes, and her daughter Susan Celeste Hayes.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, James Stanley and Flo Hayes of Watkinsville, sisters; Sue Chamblee of Monroe, Beth Young of Athens and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 10, 2006 at 11AM at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Franklin Shumake officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Milton Crawford, Lamar Crawford, Bobby Gene Crawford, Homer Hansford, Mike Crawford and David Kilpatrick.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
