Sara Ann (Findley) Bray

March 5, 1930 — May 30, 2012

Sara Ann Bray, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her home on Wire Bridge Road, Maxeys, GA, where she had lived for most of her life. She had been in declining health for the past several years.

Sara Ann was born in Maxeys, GA to the late Lucile and Ernest Findley, on March 5, 1930. She was married to Tommy Bray, who preceded her in death in 1982. Sara Ann attended school in Maxeys, GA and completed her last year of high school at Young Harris Academy, Young Harris, GA.

Sara Ann was a devoted member of Maxeys Christian Church and was president of the Ladies Aid Society for a number of years. She was also active in the Senior Citizens Center, and delivered meals of the Meals-On-Wheels program for several years. She was also a member of UDC and Stephens-Maxeys Homemakers Club. She retired from DFACS in 1991 after 34 years and served on DFACS Board for several years after retirement.

She is survived by her son Bill Bray, aunts Sara Ferguson of Huston, TX, and Lessie Amos of Macon, GA, nephews, Harry and Maureen Bray and Jack and Sylvia Bray of Virginia Beach, VA, devoted companion, Sally Mae Gresham and cousins, Bobby Arnold, Donna Tiller, Danny Amos and Joan Traylor.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11AM at Maxeys Christian Church with Rev. Wayne Spangler officiating. Pallbearers will be Harry Bray, Jr., Buddy Moore, Johnny Burt, David Moore, Terry Green and Andy Eberhart. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Maxeys, GA.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 at the funeral home, Friday, June 1, 2012.

Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
